Creating my header effect

Since I got so many email requests from people asking me how I created the effects on my header image and menu, I put together a little tutorial describing how I did it over at Swedish Fika. I hope you enjoy it and learn something from it!

PS. If you haven’t checked out or heard of PicLens I strongly advise you to. It’s the coolest Firefox plugin I’ve seen! Image browsing has never been more fun!

Great header effect! I was wondering if there was some way to use only 1 fader.js script to run multiple fades. I tried fiddling with the JS file, but no results.
Any suggestions?

Turn it into a function that takes a selector as an argument and then attaches the correct event handlers and markup to the elements that correspond to the selector :)
